Visitors to the Oastler Shopping Centre can enjoy a summer of free film fun at a new pop-up cinema announced today as part of the Bradford Family Film Festival.
Bradford Council’s Markets Team is to host the pop-up cinema, which will launch on Friday August 3 with a screening of the popular Disney classic, The Lion King.
Shoppers will be able to enjoy a free screening every Friday at 11am throughout August. Titles include the 1960’s classic The Jungle Book, Aardman animation’s Shaun the Sheep and some exciting Pixar animation shorts.
Festival organisers at Bradford UNESCO City of Film are delighted to welcome Bradford Markets as a new partner this year.
Director of Bradford UNESCO City Of Film, David Wilson said: “It’s fantastic to be bringing cinema to the heart of the market space at the Oastler Shopping Centre. We’ve worked with the markets team to bring a selection of great family movies and animation shorts which have broad appeal so there’s something for everyone.”
Cllr Alex Ross-Shaw, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Planning & Transport for Bradford Council said: “We’re delighted to be taking part in the Bradford Family Festival for the first time. We hope stall holders and shoppers alike will drop in and enjoy some of the fabulous family films we have on offer.”
