You don't have to travel too far to see Santa this Christmas, because he will be hanging around in our markets overstaying his welcome and ready to greet you with a ho ho ho! Giddy up, giddy up let's roll, the donkey is back, the crafts are back and main man is here!
Join us in the Oastler Centre, Market Event Space on Saturday 9th and 16th December between 11-4pm for free, festive workshops delivered by our friends at Sponge Tree. Dive into rug-making with a tufting rug making machine, adding your creative touch to a communal masterpiece. Delight in fabric crafts, wreath making, and more. Unleash your artistic side and make this a special Christmas memory with us!
The second workshop will mark the final Christmas event in the Oastler Centre with joy and creativity. Make vibrant, upcycled Christmas decorations, infusing life and culture into your festivities. Tilly the donkey is back on John Street, to give you free rides on Saturday 16th December between 11-2pm, there will be free face painting on the 9th, 16th, 20th and 23rd December inside the Oastler and Kirkgate Market with Santa doing his walkabouts across both markets.
Over at Keighley Market, Keighley Creative will be delivering two festive workshops on Saturday 9th and 16th December between 11-3pm. A free, drop in family friendly workshop. Come and make a festive, collaged frame with artist Naseem Darbey and then add a still life drawing from seasonal and wintery inspired bits and bobs. Give it as a gift, or treat yourself! The second workshop will see you make your own Scandinavian style corn decorations with artist Emily Parkin. Have a go at making corn hearts, hoops or angels, which are lovely natural decorations made from plaiting stalks of wheat.
Free face painting and Santa will be in his grotto in Keighley Market on Saturday 16th and 23rd December.
