Bradford Council is inviting potential retailers to register their interest in becoming a selected trader for the city’s new £23m flagship market.
The redevelopment of Bradford’s new Darley Street Market is now well under way and to illustrate the offer, the council has launched a new leasing brochure.
The glossy publication shows interested traders what the market will look like, its facilities, how it will operate and floor plans describing each of the three trading floors including non-food, fresh and hot food and drink. To view or download the brochure visit Bradford Markets website.
Plans for the adjoining open-air market square are also featured.
Strategically located in heart of the city’s central shopping area, the new Darley Street Market has been designed to be a light, airy and modern retail space and is packed with energy and environment saving features including smart heating, lighting and ventilation systems, rainwater capture technologies and green transport facilities.
The market will have three trading floors and an underground basement for deliveries and waste recycling.
Fresh produce will be sold on the upper ground floor and top floor will house an open plan food court which will trade into the evenings to support the local night-time economy.
The ground floor will contain non-food offerings.
There will be high quality spaces for 13 hot food and drink vendors with seating for 530 customers, an outdoor viewing balcony with seating and a stage for day and evening entertainment.
The new market square will boast eight large umbrellas for outdoor trading and seating for 66 customers.
The outdoor space with capacity for up to 500 people has been designed to draw crowds from the surrounding area by hosting a range of cultural and entertainment events.
Interested retailers should register their interest by applying online at the Bradford Markets website.
They will then be sent further information on the new market and details on how to apply when the stall application pack is announced in spring 2022.
The Darley Street Market will be developed in parallel with other significant regeneration projects such as the 4,000 capacity music venue Bradford Live, City Village – a sustainable inner city regeneration housing project and One City Park – a state-of-the-art and energy efficient mixed use commercial development on the doorstep of the multi-award- winning public space, City Park.
