When the time of year calls for wintery puddings, there is nothing better than a homemade crumble.
Start with some tasty bramley apples and add your own twist with blackberries or rhubarb.
Our favourite crumble recipe topping is below:
100g plain flour
50g rolled oats
50g golden caster sugar
Pop everything in a bowl and rub together with your fingers then bake on a tray in a 200C oven for 10 minutes breaking up with a fork half way through.
This can be stored in a container for a couple of days, ready to sprinkle on roasted or stewed fruit for an instant crumble style dessert. You can bake together in the oven before serving or just serve it up and dig in.
The only thing left to do is decide between ice cream or custard.
