Oastler Market Speaks events will begin this month
Did you know that an avocado has more potassium that a banana and more fibre than any other fruit? Creamy, rich and nutritious it can be used in savoury and sweet dishes to pack them full of the good stuff.
Perfect for any time of day we keep it simple to really showcase this creamy fruit.
- Take the flesh from one avocado, add to a blender with a small chunk of feta and a handful of frozen peas that you’ve left to defrost. You can speed this up by leaving them in warm water for five minutes.
- Blend together with a few twists of black pepper, if you don’t have a blender you can use a fork or potato masher.
- Serve spread on toast topped with a fried egg and a few chilli flakes.
This makes a delicious breakfast or brunch dish and you can always leave out the chilli if it’s not your thing. This little whipped mix also makes a great dip to go with some toasted pita or tortilla chips.
