Bradford Markets appoints Catherine Simes to support traders with marketing and digital business development

Published on

The Markets Service are pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Simes, co-founder of the Bradford Street Market online platform on an initial one year contract.

Catherine’s appointment commences from the 1st October 2020 and her role will be to provide training to traders across all our markets so that they can develop their own digital and social media strategies to assist in future promotional campaigns and producing content that is unique to their business for online use.

Bradford Street Market online boasts over 5000 members and since the pandemic, Catherine has successfully helped independent businesses to showcase their products and services online using Facebook.

During these unprecedented times, Covid-19 has taught us that many retailers including market traders need to adapt their business model to provide additional services including delivery, click & collect, cashless payments and an online platform. As many of these changes were unanticipated, many market traders were naturally not prepared for such changes to take place imminently.

The Markets Service are keen to support traders who want to be digitally prepared for the changing local business climate hence the additional on-site marketing support.

If you would like to book time with Catherine, please email Bradford.Markets@Bradford.gov.uk.  Catherine will be on-site and introducing her services to traders next month.
