Our Food Market plans have got even better with a vibrant new city square for Bradford

Published on

Our initial plans to develop a market in the former Marks & Spencer store have now been expanded to include additional properties that will be demolished to create a major new public space supporting the development of our city centre markets.

The extra space will provide for a larger food market which will face onto a dynamic new public space that will host outdoor markets and specialist open air events bringing more people into the city centre, and shopping in the market. A dedicated underground servicing area for deliveries and storage facilities will also be created.

It will also increase the visibility of Piccadilly, which is home to a number of high quality Victorian buildings and make Piccadilly more desirable for redevelopment, particularly for residential uses in the heart of the redeveloped city centre.
